PLF is challenging the Affordable Care Act for violating the Constitution’s Origination Clause because it raises taxes but started in the Senate, not the House.  Our case – Sissel v. U.S. Department of Health & Human Services -- will be heard by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, on May 8.

San Ramon's “community facilities” district won’t create any new “facilities.”  It’s merely a new tax on landowners to help with the city’s pension payments.  It also happens to violate the Mello Roos Act and Proposition 218.
